Early Scan FAQ's

How early can you do the scan from?
We offer transvaginal scans from as little 5-6 weeks, if we cannot see the heartbeat, we will not confirm the pregnancy, and you will be asked to come back for a free rescan in 2 weeks.
We can usually confirm a pregnancy via abdominal scan from 7 weeks but if for any reason we cannot then you will be offered a transvaginal scan. Transvaginal scans provide clearer images and can pick up the heartrate from an earlier stage, they are completely safe and are regularly used in NHS. A chaperone is present throughout the whole scan unless you request otherwise. If you would rather not have the transvaginal scan, then you will be offered a free rescan in 2 weeks.
An early pregnancy scan is £85.
